Chughtai International Summer Camp 2026 — Six Weeks of Wonder, Play and Growth
At Chughtai International School, Pakistan’s First IB World School exclusively for Early Years, we believe childhood is not a rehearsal for learning — it is learning. And over six sunlit weeks this summer, our campus became a small universe of discovery, where every child was free to wonder, wander and grow at their very own pace.
Ninety-odd little learners. Six caterpillar-to-dragonfly sections. One unforgettable season. This is the story of how a summer of play became a summer of blooming.
Weeks One & Two: Settling In, Rooting Down
The early days belonged to trust. Guided by our Forest Fusion mornings — long, unhurried stretches of child-led inquiry, indoors and out — children eased into new routines, new faces and a rhythm all their own. Snack time at The Growing Table, our nourishing daily meal program, became a gentle daily anchor.
Then, as we turned to seeds and sprouts, something took root in our young learners too. Small hands pressed soil into pots, watched saplings drink the morning water, and asked the biggest little question of all: why? Curiosity, we were reminded, is the truest kind of intelligence.
Weeks Three & Four: Planet Protectors and Bold New Tries
With our “Planet Protectors” inquiry — recycle, reuse, reduce — the children discovered that even the smallest person can care for the biggest world. Class projects and home creations, made hand-in-hand with families, lined our porch at pick-up time, each one a proud little declaration of I made this, and it matters.
Across the weeks, the days brimmed with joyful firsts: process-art at the ArtBar, hands-on investigation at the STEM Lab, splashing confidence in the pool, movement and music, and storytelling in both English and Urdu — honouring the languages and culture our children carry from home. Bit by bit, “I can’t yet” softened into “let me try.”
Weeks Five & Six: Agency, Kindness and Action
By the final weeks, our learners weren’t simply taking part — they were choosing. Choosing their materials, their questions, their play. This is agency, an idea at the heart of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), coming to life before our eyes.
Perhaps the season’s most moving moment was our children’s plant sale — saplings they had lovingly grown and watered, sold to raise funds for the elderly toy-seller who sits outside our gates. A lesson no worksheet could teach: that learning is most beautiful when it becomes kindness in action.
Week 4: Independence and Insight
The final Summer School stretch saw them shine — bright. They now understood classroom expectations —books belonged in the reading nook, win-win agreements were mutually beneficial, just when to step forward and help as per need. One gesture stood out: offering glue to a classmate first. An unassuming act of kindness — watershed in child development.
Even under weather, they pushed through. Retrieving purple from a sea of crayons, mixing own paint, and insisting on independent work. That insistence, however, now rooted in calm assurance.
On the final day, they powered through baking. Recognising staples, excitedly trying to guess what might be being made — ‘pizza? cupcakes? brownies?’ They helped measure, mix, layered ganache, decorated with choice goodies. A journey marked in distance was now a lesson in ownership.
The Learning Journey Culmination
Some learner stories unfold with a bang. Others bloom in silence.
At Chughtai International School, we understand how growth in Early Childhood Education isn’t always loud — or immediate. More often, it inches forward, and not always in a straight line. At Summer School Season I, every participant felt safe, seen, and supported.
They didn’t just grow — they bloomed.
A Thought to Take Away
Some children arrive with a bang; others bloom in quiet. At Chughtai International, we understand that growth in the early years is rarely loud or linear — more often, it inches forward, gathering courage day by day.
This summer, every child felt safe, seen and supported. They painted and planted, questioned and created, shared and cared. They didn’t just play.
They bloomed. 🌱
