Dr. MARIAM CHUGHTAI

Head of School

Dr. Mariam Chughtai has a Doctorate and two Masters degrees in Education from Harvard University. Upon her return to Pakistan in 2015, she set up the School of Education at LUMS where she is a faculty member. Dr. Chughtai served as Director, National Curriculum Council at the Federal Ministry of Education for 3 years. In this role, she spearheaded the development of Pakistan's first Core Curriculum for Grades 1-12 with consensus from all provinces.

Dr. Chughtai is also the Pakistan Director for Harvard Mittal South Asia Institute. As part of her family business, she serves on the Board of Directors for Chughtai Lab, Pakistan's largest private healthcare network.

SALEHA FAISAL

Family Engagement Coordinator-Administrator

Saleha Faisal is a dedicated educationist with over 21 years of experience, specializing in Early Years (EY). Throughout her career, she has collaborated with some of the most prestigious educational institutions, bringing her expertise and passion to each role. For the past eight years, she has been an integral part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) community, enriching the program with her innovative approaches and insights.

Saleha has conducted numerous workshops focusing on EY, sharing her knowledge and nurturing the development of young minds. She is presently an applicant for the IBEN role of a Workshop Leader, a position that will allow her to further contribute to the IB community by leading and mentoring educators. Her compassionate and enthusiastic involvement in education has illuminated the paths of countless children, inspiring them to embrace learning with joy and curiosity. Saleha enjoys nature walks, finding inspiration and energy in the great outdoors, which fuels her creativity and passion for teaching

Saba Tabish Mir

Primary Years Programme Coordinator

Saba Tabish Mir is a seasoned educator with over 13 years of experience, including six years specializing in Project-Based Learning (PBL). She has established a reputation for excellence in education, previously working at TNS Gulberg Beaconhouse, Pakistan's pioneering IB school.

Now serving as the Primary Years Coordinator at Chughtai International School (CIS)—Pakistan’s first exclusive early years IB school—Saba plays a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing and innovative learning environment. Her wealth of experience ensures that CIS remains a leader in providing a world-class, child-centered education.

Saba holds an MBA with distinction and a gold medal from Lahore School of Economics and has recently earned a certification in Teaching with Digital Technology from Cambridge University. Her academic accomplishments reflect her dedication to lifelong learning and her ability to integrate modern methodologies into the classroom.

Beyond her professional life, Saba is a devoted mother of two who enjoys cooking in her leisure time. Her diverse expertise, passion for education, and commitment to excellence make her an integral part of the CIS community.

SEEMA SULTANA

Kindergarten Homeroom Teacher

Seema Sultana is a passionate and seasoned educationist with 12 years of expertise in Early Years (EY) education. Seema is a certified and dedicated International Baccalaureate (IB) educator, infusing the program with innovative approaches and valuable insights. Seema is deeply committed to nurturing young minds, focusing on essential skills from the outset to empower children with confidence and the ability to soar. Her compassionate and enthusiastic involvement in education has inspired countless children to embrace learning with joy and curiosity.

A true team player, Seema uplifts every member of the working community and has built a strong affinity with parents, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Seema also enjoys meeting new people and learning from them, continually enriching her teaching practice and personal growth.

ALI WAQAS

Sport Teacher

Ali Waqas is a dedicated Physical Education teacher with 10 years of experience at renowned institutions. He holds a Master’s degree in Sports Science and Physical Education and is a certified Les Mills group fitness instructor. Ali is passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and developing the physical skills of his students. Ali has coached football teams to multiple victories in inter and intra-school matches and is passionate about creating a friendly, inclusive environment where students can learn and grow.

He believes in the power of physical activity to transform lives and strives to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to take risks, challenge themselves, and develop a lifelong love of fitness. His expertise in coaching and fitness training ensures that students reach their full potential, both physically and mentally.

FARHAN ALBERT

Music Teacher

Farhan Albert is part of the music industry as a professional Keyboard/Piano player, singer, music composer and music producer for the last 35 years. He has worked with all the renowned artists of the country and some international artists in one way or the other. Farhan has been performing live with various artists in Pakistan as well as in other countries. He has also been teaching music in one of the best institutions in Lahore along with online classes to the international students. Farhan is also running his own audio recording studio known as 'Albert Studios', which is one of the best in the country and has done hundreds of audio productions.

Falak Khawaja

Playgroup Homeroom Teacher

Star Jolly Phonics expert Falak Khawaja brings over 15 years of notable experience in the Early Years sector. She credits much of her success as an educator to experiential education – integrating hands-on student experience with meaningful reflection. Falak excels at fostering a secure environment for young learners, having consistently prioritised child safety across various leadership roles. A forward-thinking vision for education inspired her to join Chughtai International School (CIS).

Ayesha Taymoor Yousaf

Curriculum Lead

A steady rise has accompanied my years-long career in school leadership and instruction. Commencing as a Grade IV teacher to successfully implementing International Baccalaureate programme standards and practices, I have gradually mastered all aspects of the Primary Years Programme (PYP). A curriculum expert, establishing learning parameters, aligning horizontal and vertical progression and executing subject-specific continuums constitute my area of expertise.

Forever dedicated to dynamic student learning, I remain ever desirous of formulating differentiated learning strategies to cultivate remarkable students ready to succeed in a post-modern world. A firm believer in excellence, I have come to prize quality service standards. A certified professional, my penchant for conceptualising, planning and executing education initiatives from scratch brought me to Chughtai International School.
