Seasonal Spell: Four Weeks of Chughtai International Summer School Wonder
Summer at Chughtai International School did not just mark turn of season — it marked a sensational start in Early Childhood Education. Over four blockbuster weeks, the now Zafar Ali Road landmark brimmed with play, discovery, and learning. Our motley set of learners planted, painted, and pondered — relishing a new adventure every day, cherishing every moment — milestones to remember, forever.
From conservation champions to budding scientists, critical thinkers to out-there performers, every child experienced a unique journey of growth. Here’s presenting a dekho at four weeks integrating summer and play to supercharge young learning.
Water is Life
Our maiden voyage embarked on water. Learners dived into the marine, met ‘Bluey’ the fish, and ‘cleaned’ the Seven Seas in a Pretend Pool. Splash Play and Sink Science activities followed-up to emphasise force of nature, making every drop count.
Daily water rites: Aqua songs, sponge-squeeze games, and plant watering headlined per day starts — the little gently learning why conservation best starts early. ‘Reuse, Reduce, Recycle’ ultimately became second nature, with Uqaabi, our beloved mascot, regularly reminding participants on how change more often than not comes from within.
Paws, Claws and Awwws
With surprise hatchlings as star guests, Week II transformed Chughtai International School into an urban wildlife hotspot. Learners established remarkable connections — matching reptiles to plush toys, naming various animals with pro-like proficiency.
Empathy came to fore too. ‘Nervous’ reptiles were comforted, animal riddles cracked, and habitats discussed at length. While Jungle Yoga stretched bodies, minds and hearts expanded likewise. Empathy, education and exploration for Early Years learners like never before in Lahore!
Green is a Lifestyle
Plant Week was everything hands-on, hearts-open and more! Saplings went into cups, compost stirred, every little hand playing part. From Bunny Craft to Parts-of-a-Plant, our learners channelled their inner environmentalists to life as learning took root.
The highlight: Taking ownership — watering plants daily, tracking sprouting shoots, and running checks with magnifying glasses. Dirtier hands, deeper learning — embracing real-world learning through play, the Chughtai International School way!
Air: Above & Around
Summer School wrapped up on a ‘high’ note: air quality. From child-safe kettle experiments to classroom clean-ups, children transformed into tiny changemakers. Experiments turned into explainers; play was purposed into sanitation sprees.
Some led group cleaning, others were quick to notice steam rising before another — and one went even further: asking why flames were blue or orange! Each observation, question, and contribution epitomising excellence in Early Childhood Education.
A Summer to Remember
Our little learners, all across, found individual niches at own pace — painting, planting, problem-solving or performing. Some joined eagerly; others took time. By Week IV, however, first friendships were forged, independence registered, and self-belief radiated.
And none would have been possible without the support of our incredible parent body. Thank you for everything: your trust, encouragement, and presence. Whether gentle time apart, a gate good-bye or anecdote share, you made Summer School super!
